Jamie Perrin
Jamie is an award winning teacher that has been described as a “Powerhouse” and continues to strive to inspire her students on a daily basis. She received both her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in dance. In 2007 she founded the dance program at Tarrant County College-Southeast Campus. She served as director of the program for 8 years. During her time at TCC she was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award for her work with the dance program. She also served as Department Chair of Fine Arts, overseeing the Art, Dance and Music departments. Her performance credits include 2 contracts with Celebrity Cruise Lines, Six Flags Over Texas, Superbowl XXXVIII, House of Blues, The Miss Texas Pageant and has tapped alongside Tony Award winner, Tommy Tune. She grew up training in dance in Missouri and has studied in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago and Columbia, South Carolina. She has choreographed and directed multiple shows for Six Flags Over Texas, Chuck E. Cheese, Firehouse Theatre, Collin County Community College, Eastfield College and Tarrant County College. Jamie is a highly sought after teacher that enjoys teaching master classes and choreographing with various studios and high school drill teams. Internationally, she has worked with studios in Canada and Ireland. She has also been a guest speaker at Texas State University. As much as Jamie loves performing, teaching is her true passion. In 2019, Jamie
opened her own studio, The Movement Academy, in Mansfield, TX. TMA focuses on providing students with a full dance education that goes beyond just the steps. She is thrilled to continue to be a part of The Dance Effect family and is so excited to see everyone light up the stage!
