Katelyn Stoss

Katelyn Stoss, originally from Hutchinson, KS, grew up dancing competitively at Poetry in Motion (formerly Judy’s School of Dance) where she trained in tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical and hip hop. She continued her studies at Wichita State University, earning a BFA in
Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. Stoss is a passionate performer, choreographer, and director who moved back home recently after a decade away. She spent a year touring as an actor/director with Missoula Children’s Theatre; working with thousands of students across the US and Canada. Following the tour, she moved to Chicago where she was a choreographer, director, performer, and teaching artist. Chicagoland credits include: director/choreographer- Music Man, choreographer- Musical Therapy The Musical, Curtains, Hello Dolly, Addams Family, Cinderella, Shrek, Legally Blonde, Catch Me if You Can, School of Rock, Elf, and Beauty and the Beast. Favorite recent local directing and choreography credits include Charlie Brown, Bright Star, Mamma Mia, and Spongebob the Musical. Stoss has been recognized for a variety of directing and choreography awards throughout her career. Since moving back home, she has earned her Masters in Education. Most recently, she attended the first Hollywood Tap Fest and worked with tap legends like Chloe & Maud Arnold, Melinda Sullivan, Pam Yasutake and more! Stoss has guest taught and judged for Dance Masters of America in both Philly & KC. She values her dance education so deeply and the impact that it has had on her life and career. Stoss believes in spreading the joy of music and dance with everyone she encounters. She is absolutely jazzed to join the TDE family this season!
