Kaycie Starkey
Kaycie Starkey began dancing at the age of twi and was the Competition Team Director at Main Street Performing Arts Center in Belton, Missouri. Having grown up immersed in the dance competition world, she has earned numerous state and national titles as both a dancer and choreographer. In addition to her dance career, Kaycie was involved in local theatre in Kansas City, performing in shows like Honk!, Fiddler on the Roof, and Bye Bye Birdie, where she received a Cappie nomination for ‘Best Dancer in a Musical.’ She also played Belle in Beauty and the Beast, earning her second Cappie nomination for ‘Best Lead Actress in a Musical.’
Kaycie participated in pageants, winning titles such as Miss Belton and Miss Pulaski County within the Miss America Organization. She received her early dance training from her mother, Michelle Mellinger, before pursuing her education at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, where she graduated with a degree in Dance Theatre.
Since graduating, Kaycie has worked across multiple television networks, including NBC, CBS, HBO, Amazon Prime, Hulu, MTV, and even appeared on a Chinese television show. You can find Kaycie on the newest season of Ted Lasso. She also danced for a year with the Radio City Rockettes and was part of the inaugural Rockette Summer Intensive at Radio City Music Hall.
Now, Kaycie has slowed down to focus on family life with her husband, Kevin, her bonus daughter, Emerald, and their newborn son, William. She feels grateful to continue sharing her passion for dance and theatre with students nationwide.
